Certification is not required for home health aides working in Arizona. However, home health aides working for an agency will need to meet that agency’s specific qualifications. Many agencies provide on-the-job training.
Home health aides working in Medicare-certified facilities will need to meet federal regulations, which requires:
1. Completion of a training programs consisting of at least 75 hours of training relating to home health
2. Training must including at least 16 hours of supervised practical or clinical training
3. Passing a competency evaluation on home health skills
4. Completion of 12 hours of annual continuing education
