HHA Training in Nebraska

1. Must be at least 18 years old
2. Has not been convicted of a crime with a penalty of one year or more of imprisonment
3. Speaks and understands English or speaks and understand the language of their supervising nurse

And must meet at least one of the following:

1. Successful completion of an approved home health aide training program (must be a minimum of 75 hours of training and be a combination of classroom learning and at least 16 hours of supervised practical training)
2. Graduated from a school of nursing
3. Since September 1991, has been employed as a home health aide II at a licensed home health agency (if home health aide I, must pass a competency evaluation)
4. Successful completion of one of the following:

a. A nursing school course in nursing fundamentals and passed a competency evaluation
b. A 75-hour basic training course for nursing assistants and passed a competency evaluation
