  • How to Become a Home Health Aide in North Dakota

    Home health aides must apply with the state to be listed on the nurse aide registry and must renew their status annually. The application forms are available online:

    Required Training and Certification

    While no formal training is required to work as a home health aide in North Dakota, HHAs employed by an agency must have completed a nurse aide training program and passed a competency evaluation.

    • The training program must be at least 75 hours, with 16 hours of classroom training before any supervised practical training (which also requires a minimum of 16 hours).
