  • The training requirements for HHAs include:

    1. Classroom and supervised practical training totaling at least 75 hours, with at least 16 hours devoted to supervised practical training.
    2. The individual being trained must complete at least 16 hours of classroom training before beginning the supervised practical training.
    3. Home health aides must also pass a competency evaluation.


  • Medicare/Medicaid program
    WV Bureau of Medical Services runs a Home Health Program (Home Health Services) that provides medically necessary and appropriate services such as skilled nursing, home health aide, physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, other therapeutic services, and nutritional services to persons in their place of residence on a part-time or intermitted basis.
